When temperatures rise, contract workers are often exposed to a new set of heat related hazards.

Hot weather

As summer is in full swing it is important to make sure your workers know how to deal with high temperatures. As many workers in the construction or labour industries tend to spend most of their time working outside, they need to be aware of any heat-related illnesses they are exposed to. Construction contractors could be outdoors for up to twelve hours per day so it’s vital that they take steps to keep themselves hydrated and out of harm from heat-related illnesses. Not only is it imperative to understand the risks and dangers of high temperatures for you workers, but it can also have a huge effect on their machinery too. For instance, high temperatures can also reduce the elasticity of seals and sealants resulting in failure and damage to the hardware.
